Where to Stay in Switzerland - W Verbier
I fell in love with Verbier before I have even visited it. It was through Slim Aarons’ beautiful photos of the holidays makers, impeccably dressed in their ski outfits, taking the sun on the mountain tops. From then on, Verbier has been on my list ever since. Where could be a better place to stay in Verbier than the chic W Verbier hotel.
I have heard so much about W Hotels. Always love their ideas of incorporating popular culture, contemporary design, casual attitude and defined luxury into their hotels. That’s why I was very excited to finally experience this at W Verbier first hand.
As soon as we parked our car in front of the hotel, we were greeted by a friendly valet, who welcomed us and took care of luggages as well as the car. Looking from outside, W Verbier looked just like all other traditional Alpine chalets in Verbier. However, once we stepped inside, we were completely taken by in the colourful funky urban design all around. After a smooth and quick check-in, we were lead to our suite.
Our suite, located on the sixth floor, has modern and slick red-themed interiors with some traditional alpine feel. The personal fireplace as well as private balcony are a nice touch on top. There is also a spacious walk-in closet to store our luggages and clothes. Our favourite part is actually stunning view from our suite to the Swiss Alps and Verbier village.
W Verbier is widely considered as the best hotel with ski-in and ski-out access in Verbier. It is less than a minute’s walk to the main lift and at the end of the day, you can ski all the way back to the hotel on your last home run. There is also a in-house ski room, which not only stores the guests’ own snow sport equipments, but also took care of ski-rentals and service, ski-tickets, and other outdoor activities the guests are interested.
During our stay. it was really snowy and cold. We found great comfort in spending some considerable amount of time at the fabulous spa, including an indoor/outdoor pool, hammam and jacuzzi. It was It was pure relaxation.
However, the highlight of our stay at W Verbier would have to be the dining experience. There are six restaurants and bars to choose from. You can enjoy classic apres-ski beverages on the balcony after skiing. Or some tapas, sushi or French cuisine for lunch and dinner with sophisticated cocktails. Even the kids’ meal look and taste incredibly refined.
I must admit that we stayed far too short in Verbier on this trip and there is still so much we haven’t properly seen yet. I do hope to return one day very soon.
We are invited as guests by W Verbier, but all opinions are our own.
